Awakening Dusk

Wings of Change Book 1

Twenty-year-old Raden Wade is a human carpenter living in the elven kingdom of Enicia. In the wake of a forest fire, he rescues an elderly elf raving about dead birds, a lost sister, and an attack on her House. With his livelihood burned and destitution threatening his grandparents, the mad crone may be his only hope.

Leoni, sister of the House of Time, tries to prove herself in her studies and weapons’ training. Raised in solitude with her mentor and raven, Leoni must master her arts if she is to protect the secrets forming the bedrock of the Enician monarchy. Some secrets hurt those who serve them, and an orphaned apprentice is no exception.

When their paths cross, unlikely alliances form. A quest begins to save the Houses. Fraught with ancient politics, giants, face-stealing shape-shifters, and betrayal, their search for truth leads them to reevaluate everything they know. If the Houses fall, the kingdom falls.

Will two millennia of peace end in blood, or can Raden and Leoni change the wings of fate?

Ruthless Dawn
Wings of Change Book 2

After a fleet of hostile northern ships arrives on the Enician coast, Raden Wade, a human carpenter, and Leoni Alawin, an elf apprentice of the fallen Sisterhood, are sent on separate missions with one goal: save the kingdom.

While posing as a slave in Falel, Raden struggles to learn a new language while caring for his blind master. At a healing monastery, he discovers the plight of his people is far worse than he realized. And the king’s duplicity leads Raden to the leader of a rebellion that tests the fabric of his morality.

Leoni is charged with returning the princess and surviving magical artifacts to the palace. While court politics and an archmage threaten what remains of the Sisterhood, Leoni strives to learn all she can about the magic poisoning not only the land but her body.

And their friends are no safer. Dannek, having shape-shifted into the form of a fallen soldier, infiltrates the invading army as a spy. Ami, apprentice of the fallen Sisterhood, tries to sway the giants to join the fight. And Corrinne, the heir to the Enician throne, grapples with the expectations of her crown.

When their fates converge, treason decides all.

A Shapethian Short Story

Set in the same world as the Wings of Change Series . . .

When a wyvern hunt ends unsuccessfully, Jadari returns without a fireproof hide. Nomi fears her husband’s failed hunt will cause their baby to be born without honor and their family to lose their place in the caravan. But when the accursed fire-breathing wyvern follows the hunting party back to their camp, the entire caravan is at risk. While Jadari defends the caravan, Nomi flees to the nearby caves with the children.

What follows is the heart-wrenching tale of a man who will do anything to save his family, even if it means shifting into the skin of the man he killed twenty years ago.
